Our freedom of speech is under constant attack, with CNN at the top of the list for trying to get a monopoly on viewers’ choices of who they watch and listen to.
Fox’s Tucker Carlson recently spoke up about CNN attempting to force Fox off the airwaves and how they have been in contact with several cable carriers to have them de-platformed.
This latest attack has hit just as Fox has taken a ratings dive because they have scaled back their conservative take on politics.
CNN labeled Fox as “irresponsible and dangerous” in their reporting, and they specifically targeted Carlson for his so-called failure to mention Trump supporters had mounted an insurrection on the Capitol building on Jan. 6.
CNN’s Brianna Keilar called Carlson “entirely fantastical” and on her Twitter account called him “a propagandist. A liar. A parasite” for his coverage of the Capitol Hill riot.
“With enemies like this, Fox News will be around for a long, long time,” Carlson said.
Another CNN writer, Oliver Darcy, mentioned Fox being dropped by cable carriers in the future.
“Why do they all carry Fox—which is, frankly, at times just as irresponsible and dangerous with its platform as its smaller competitor networks?” he said.
Carlson is not ready to concede anytime soon to the takeover of free speech that CNN or any other networks might be hoping to put into place.
“Friday morning, CNN announced that it is working to force the Fox News Channel off the air and run this company out of business,” Carlson said, as reported by Deadline.
“A number of prominent Democrats, including officeholders, support that effort. CNN staffers have already contacted the six major cable carriers in this country, the companies that carry our signal into your home, and pressured them to drop Fox News. On what pretext, you may ask? On the pretext that this show and others on the channel are directly responsible for the violence at the U.S. Capitol this week.
“Here you have a news company calling for censorship, a TV network demanding that media conglomerates ban its competitors,” Carlson said. “That’s terrifying, but it’s also, if we’re being completely honest here, kind of amusing.”
Other networks are also in CNN’s sights, including Newsmax and One America News.
Grant Stinchfield, a four-time Emmy-winning journalist from Newsmax, says CNN wants them, and also One America News, “vaporized off your flatscreen.”
“We’re going to have to figure out the OAN and Newsmax problem. These companies have freedom of speech,” said CNN.
“You see, how it never ends with the left,” said Stinchfield.
