Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday, March 9, said that she is not going to get the CCP Virus (coronavirus) vaccine.
“I fully believe it’s everyone’s choice and I don’t think I need the vaccine,” Greene told The Water Cooler’s David Brody, reported Just The News.
“I’m 46-years-old, I’m not in the high risk group. I’m perfectly healthy and I have full confidence in my immune system to naturally defeat COVID-19 … as long as God is willing,” Greene said.
As of Tuesday, March 9, over 92 million doses of CCP Virus vaccine have been given and 31.5 million Americans have been vaccinated, which represents nearly 10% of population, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The CDC on Monday released interim recommendations saying that for those who have been fully vaccinated against the CCP Virus, it’s safe to hold small, mask-free gatherings with others who have been fully vaccinated. Vaccinated people can “visit unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing.”
In February, the CDC released a report that found a significant percentage of Americans still remain hesitant about getting the vaccine: only about half of adults under age 65 said they were “absolutely certain” or “very likely” to get the vaccine.
Among those who were vaccinated, increased side effects have been reported including death. There have been 1,095 deaths in the United States and 2,787 in the European Union, according to reports.
During the interview, Greene said she and others trust their immune systems to survive the virus, citing over 99% of people under the age of 65 survive the CCP Virus.
“I think my odds are pretty good and I’m willing to take that gamble,” she said. “And the government has no right to tell me or anyone else that I’m required to have a vaccine to fly on an airplane, to go in restaurants, to buy and sell in the marketplace, for my children to attend school, or any other freedom and right that I have. The government needs to get out of our business and allow us to be completely open and make decisions for ourself with our health.”
