The body of an 80-year-old man in pants was found dead in the hallway of a Staten Island apartment building with the words, “I touch little girls” written on his chest, confirmed police on Tuesday, July 21.

The deceased was identified as Robert Raynor, a resident who lived in an apartment at 256 Corson Ave. Police said the words were scrawled in black ink, according to Fox News.

Raynor was found just after 9:30 a.m. Monday. His upstairs neighbor, 40-year-old Isaac Williams, saw the body in the building’s hallway with his arms above his head as though he had been dragged.

“I was coming down to get some cigarettes, and I just happened to look back in the hallway and I saw him laying there. My first instinct was he was drunk and he’d just fallen—even though I’d never seen him drunk,” Williams told the New York Post

Officials revealed that when Raynor was found, he was lying face-up, had cuts to his forehead, and had two black eyes. Williams added that the senior’s body was showing evident nose injuries.

The wording on his chest was not the only message. The New York Post noted that Raynor’s stomach had another sentence which read: “I take dolls in my room for girls age 1-5” and another “I touch” scrawling written on his right foot.

Recalling the night before the discovery of the octogenarian’s tragic death, Williams said he overheard loud noises of an unusual commotion.

“It was so loud, I could hear it over the air conditioner,” he revealed. “I said, ‘What the hell are they doing down there?’ It was loud banging, like ‘boom, boom, boom.’ Like people were wrestling or someone was throwing somebody around.”

Williams did not expect Raynor to be a pedophile, however.

“The man hardly ever came outside,” Williams recalled. “He could barely walk. He could barely lift his arms up. When he’d go to the store to buy beer, he had to put a backpack on for two little cans because he couldn’t carry them. That’s how pitiful his state was. The man looked like he was 110.”

The New York Post reported that Raynor was arrested 24 times during the course of his life, but none of them demonstrated he was a sex offender.

There were four cases from the state’s online registry, including two assaults against a girlfriend in 1987, one assault in 1992, and drug possession rap in 1996, the outlet added.

The man’s death is being investigated.
