Facebook stops muting conversations around the source of the CCP Virus (COVID-19) now.
The world’s top social media platform no longer censors content relatable to CCP Virus’ origin. A Facebook spokesperson announced its new direction on Wednesday, May 26.
This move coincides with growing voices of support from the Biden administration for a thorough investigation into the theory around the lethal virus.
“In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made from our apps,” the spokesperson said, claiming that this new adjustment came “as new facts and trends emerge.”
This includes the accusations that CPP Virus actually escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, as first mentioned by former President Donald Trump and his allies.
The pandemic initially emerged from Wuhan city in Hubei province, China, but officials have been alluding to a local wild animal market to claim that the CCP Virus jumped from bats to humans.
For some reason, despite asserting confidently he had the documents to prove that the virus was man-made, the former president could not give out such information to back his claims. Thus, the accusations later were labeled as a conspiracy theory and became a censorship target by Big Tech.
In February, Facebook announced that it would no longer host a playground for discussion over where the CCP Virus may have originated from. The censorship also covers doubts on the use of experimental vaccines.
Since then, posts, accounts, groups, and pages that convey the content were ruthlessly filtered.
This change came not very long after then-White House health advisor Dr. Fauci changed his course and declared support for the investigation into clarifying the CCP Virus’s true identity. The top health expert in April last year publicly rejected the theory, concurring with the saying that the virus was a “jump of a species from an animal to a human.”
“I am not convinced about that,” Fauci said of the notion that the virus came out naturally in a recent interview with PolitiFact. “I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out to the best of our ability what happened.”
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden finally ordered a more robust effort into testifying the allegations of the engineered virus which has wreaked havoc to the world as it managed to escape the lab.
According to Politico, Facebook was the first platform to switch its orientation on the CCP Virus theory which previously was dubbed as misleading information by Big Tech. Meanwhile, other social media giants such as Twitter and Youtube have not decided to lift their suspension on this topic yet.
