The pro-life organization Every Black Life Matters (EBLM), known as the Christian alternative to Black Lives Matter (BLM), sent a letter of commendation to President Trump for his years of stewardship and “true commitment” to black people.

In a press release issued Tuesday, EBLM released its letter of commendation to President Trump, signed by the group’s co-founders, Kevin McGary, president; Neil Mammen, executive vice president; and more than 300 people who endorsed the words.

In the letter, the signatories expressed their gratitude to President Trump for demonstrating by his actions his support for the black community in the United States while maintaining his strong stance on the right to life and the rights of unborn children.

“While there have been many presidents of the U.S. who have asserted support for the Black community, you have fully demonstrated your commitment and resolve to support and improve Black life by standing firm on the right to life,” the letter says.

The letter takes the opportunity to criticize the “progressives/leftists/democrats,” accusing them of promoting a discourse that condemns racism, but without taking concrete action to combat it, while at the same time acting as accomplices of the Planned Parenthood Association, a sponsor of the abortion industry with a “remarkable racist record.”

Instead, they highlight Trump’s action by saying, “You, on the other hand, have consistently opposed Planned Parenthood racism and have publicly acknowledged its tactics and plans to ‘exterminate the black population’ (actual quote from PP founder Margret Sanger) as the equivalent of ‘black genocide’—your position is just and right!'”

EBLM acknowledged that during Trump’s presidency, structural transformations for the well-being of the black community were conceived, which are not limited to some punctual benefit or populist policies limited to getting votes for politicians:

“Your Presidential record confirms that with your stand against abortion, policies for school choice, economic revitalization via ‘Opportunity Zones,’ crafting of The Platinum Plan, permanent funding for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and with your criminal justice reforms, you have attempted to improve Black life in every phase of life (from the ‘womb to the tomb’). This is the exact definition for standing for Every Black Life Matters!” the letter says.

During its term, the Trump administration allocated a budget of $255 million annually to fund programs at HBCUs. Trump also signed the Farm Bill that includes more than $100 million extra for scholarships, research, and centers of excellence at HBCU land grant institutions.

The U.S. Census Bureau announced in a report released last year that since 2016, President Trump’s economic policies aimed at the most disadvantaged’s well-being have lifted 1.2 million black Americans out of poverty, the most considerable reduction in the first three years of any presidency.
