President Donald Trump tweeted out Sunday that Democrats are ready to wage war against Israel because the Squad is the new face of the Party.
“House Democrats want to take action against Israel because it is fighting back against two (maybe four) people that have said unthinkably bad things about it & the Israeli people,” Trump said.
The president indicated that the House Democrats are considering issuing a ‘no confidence’ statement regarding Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer, according to Washington Examiner.
“Dems have such disdain for Israel! What happened? AOC Plus 4 is the new face of the Democrat Party!” he added.

AOC is a reference to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and the so-called “Squad” is four congresswomen — Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.
Israel on Thursday decided to bar two U.S. Democratic congresswomen, Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan), who support the international boycott movement from entering the country.
In response to Israel’s decision, Senior congressional Democrats are said to be considering legislative action against Israel’s ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer and David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador to Israel. Sources told McClatchy that close to 12 Democratic lawmakers are considering action against Dermer and Friedman for their roles in blocking the congresswomen from traveling to Israel.
“With Dermer, the issue is that there already was a severe lack of trust,” a source said. “But now there is a severe lack of confidence. It is completely unclear that he represents his government given he has made promises that he has not kept and wasn’t clear if he ever had any chance of keeping.”
Reactions of AOC to Israel’s decision
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced Thursday that she would not travel to Israel in protest of the country’s decision to bar fellow Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib from entry.
“[Members of Congress] are frequently asked to visit Israel to ‘see things for ourselves,’ ” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “But Netanyahu choosing to ban the only 2 Muslim women in Congress from entering tells the US that only *some* Americans are welcome to Israel, not all.”
“Netanyahu’s discriminatory decision to ban members of Congress from Israel harms int’l diplomacy,” she continued. “Visiting Israel & Palestine are key experiences towards a path to peace. Sadly, I cannot move forward w scheduling any visits to Israel until all members of Congress are allowed.”
Ocasio-Cortez is a close ally of Omar and Tlaib in the House.
‘Hate for Israel overcomes the love for her grandmother’
On Thursday night, Tlaib sent a letter to the Israeli Minister of Interior Aryeh Deri asking for permission to enter Israel on humanitarian grounds.
“I would like to request admittance to Israel in order to visit my relatives, and specifically my grandmother, who is in her 90s and lives in Beit Ur al-Fouqa,” Tlaib wrote in the letter, which became public on Friday morning.
“This could be my last opportunity to see her,” the Congresswoman added. “I will respect any restrictions and will not promote boycotts against Israel during my visit.”
After criticism, Israel then changed its position and made it possible for Tlaib to come, but she has rejected their invitation.
“Rep. Tlaib just tweeted that she won’t be coming to Israel,” Deri tweeted. “Just yesterday she sent me a letter, asking to visit her 90-year-old grandmother saying, ‘it might be my last chance to meet her.’
“I approved her request as a gesture of goodwill on a humanitarian basis, but it was just a provocative request, aimed at bashing the State of Israel,” Deri added. “Apparently her hate for Israel overcomes her love for her grandmother.”
‘Group of troublemakers’
Last month, President Trump criticized the group of four freshman Democratic congresswomen, calling them a “racist group of troublemakers.”
“The “Squad” is a very Racist group of troublemakers who are young, inexperienced, and not very smart. They are pulling the once great Democrat Party far left and were against humanitarian aid at the Border…And are now against ICE and Homeland Security. So bad for our Country!” the president tweeted.
Earlier, President Trump said that the “squad” is not only bad for America as a whole but also is damaging Democrat party.
“I don’t believe the four Congresswomen are capable of loving our country,” Trump tweeted. “They should apologize to America (and Israel) for the horrible (hateful) things they have said. They are destroying the Democrat Party, but are weak & insecure people who can never destroy our great Nation!”
