Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, has accused the Democrats of weaponizing the entire system in the U.S. when he responded to the news that a former Clinton 2016 campaign lawyer had been charged with lying to the FBI about the Russian collusion investigation.

In an interview on Fox News on Sunday, Sept. 19, Eric Trump said he had worked with the FBI on investigating allegations of a secret backchannel between Russia’s Alfa Bank and the Trump Organization, but it was a recent indictment from special counsel John Durham’s inquiry that finally showed evidence of bankrolling by Hillary Clinton’s team.

“I didn’t know until literally, Durham indicted Michael Sussman two days ago that this whole thing was actually done by the Clinton campaign,” he told host Maria Bartiromo.

“We had no idea where it came from. We worked with the FBI for a year, a year-and-a-half. All our I.T. vendors worked with the FBI,” he said.

Eric revealed that he got an email from The New York Times in September 2016 that said Trump Organization had servers to some Russian bank funded by the Kremlin regime.

“They wanted one thing, Maria. They wanted a headline in The New York Times or The Washington Post saying Donald Trump or the Trump Organization under investigation by the FBI for ties with Russia, which is exactly what they got,” he said.

Indeed, the FBI investigated findings brought forth by a small group of computer scientists connecting the business empire of his father, former President Donald Trump, to Alfa Bank, but could not find evidence to support them, according to Washington Examiner,, which cited the Justice Department inspector general’s report in late 2019. The Moscow-based bank also denied the claims.

Despite that, Eric Trump said that the Clinton campaign got what it wanted in the final weeks of the 2016 campaign, with media widely reporting on the collusion between his father and Russia.

“We all know now that it was funded by Hillary Clinton. It’s an absolute disgrace. It makes our country look like a banana republic. And it just shouldn’t have happened,” he said.

Special counsel, Robert Mueller’s team,, ended their investigation in 2019 without finding a criminal conspiracy between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia.

Now, nearly two and a half years later, Durham is wrapping up a criminal inquiry into the origins and conduct of the Russia investigation. The recent indictment accused Sussmann, a former attorney from law firm Perkins Coie, of falsely telling the FBI’s top lawyer he was not representing any clients when acting on behalf of a technology executive and the Clinton campaign during a Sept. 2016 meeting where he shared a tip about a secret electronic channel between Trump’s company and the Russian bank.

Sussmann pleaded not guilty to a charge of lying to the FBI on Sept. 17, with lawyers insisting he never said he did not have clients and was representing only the technology executive at the meeting five years ago.

According to the Washington Examiner, the indictment said paperwork showed Sussmann billed the Clinton campaign for time spent working on the Alfa Bank matter, as well as the meeting with the FBI. The indictment also alleged that Marc Elias, another now-former Perkins Coie attorney who served as general counsel for the Clinton campaign, exchanged emails with the “campaign manager, communications director, and foreign policy advisor” about the Russian bank allegations, and Sussmann helped coordinate the dissemination of the claims to the media.

In his interview, Eric Trump suggested Hillary should be interviewed or speak out herself.

“Where is Hillary Clinton in this conversation? Where’s her voice?” he said.

“I mean, you better believe, if Donald Trump had one of his lawyers going in to make up lies to the FBI to try and smear another campaign, you would have—you better believe that he would have been on every paper around the world. Where is she? Why isn’t she answering these questions?” he said.

“She paid for a person, a lawyer from one of the biggest law firms in the country to go in and lie to the FBI. That’s what she did,” Eric continued. “And guess what? No one even rings her doorbell. No one even asks the question of her. And that’s the problem, Maria, with the Democrats. The problem with the Democrats is, they dig so deep that they always find themself.”

” And the reason I’m frustrated about this is, every single day since my father ran for president, my father and our entire family and our company has been under investigation. Every single day, we get subpoena after subpoena after subpoena.”

“I mean, they have weaponized the entire system in this country. They have weaponized the DOJ. They have weaponized our military. They have weaponized the educational system in this country. They have weaponized the medical system in this country. The Democrats weaponize absolutely everything they can to use against their political opponents,” said the son of Donald Trump.
