A cybersecurity expert has concluded that a critical email purportedly belonging to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is authentic.

The New York Post ran a “smoking-gun” story two weeks ago, which detailed an email allegedly sent by Vadym Pozharskyi, a top executive at Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, thanking Hunter for introducing him to Joe Biden.

According to a report published on Thursday, Oct. 29, by The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF), Robert Graham, the cybersecurity firm Errata Security founder, confirmed the email is real.

“Graham, who has been cited as a cybersecurity expert in The Washington Post, The Associated Press, Wired, Engadget, and other news and technology outlets, told the DCNF that he used a cryptographic signature found in the email’s metadata to validate that Vadym Pozharsky, an adviser to Burisma’s board of directors, emailed Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015,” the DCNF stated.

Hunter served on the board of Burisma when his father was vice president of the United States. Less than a year after Hunter sent the email, Joe Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the gas company in return for a $1 billion loan guarantee.

The Biden campaign said that the former vice president’s official schedule showed that no such meeting, as alleged in the Post’s email, took place. However, the campaign said they could not rule out that Joe Biden had an informal interaction with Pozharski.

Joe Biden has insisted that he “never” spoke to his son about his overseas business dealings and dismissed the report as a “smear campaign.”

The development comes after Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski went on the record, accusing Joe Biden of lying about his involvement with his son dealings in China. He also claimed that he had meetings with Joe Biden, in particular one that took place on May 2, 2017.

“I just don’t see, given the history here in the facts, how Joe can’t be influenced in some manner based on the history that they have,” Bobulinski told Fox News host Tucker Carlson in Tuesday’s interview. “So as a citizen and an American taxpayer, I’m very, very concerned.”

“They were putting their entire family legacy on the line,” he said. “They knew exactly what they were doing. They were dealing with a Chinese owned enterprise … that had strong financial support and political support from the Chinese Communist Party. That’s how it was presented to me. That’s not my own words. That’s how they presented it to me and read me in on it.”

On Thursday, a Department of Justice official confirmed that the FBI opened a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden and his associates in 2019. The investigation focused on allegations of money laundering, and it remains open and active today, according to James Rosen, a reporter at Sinclair Broadcast Group.
