Killing countless peaceful people to sell their vital human parts should be called murderous organ harvesting, a human rights champion said.
Andy Vermaut wants everyone to start calling the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) state-sanctioned butchering of Falun Dafa adherents, native Uighur people, and underground Christians “organcide.”
Although the PostVersa president believes arbitrarily detaining, torturing, organ harvesting and murdering people with high moral standards might not technically meet the United Nations’s (UN’s) definition of genocide, it is certainly a form of killing.
“What is happening to the Chinese Falun Gong practitioners does not meet the UN’s criteria for a genocide so, for Chinese organ theft and murder of healthy [and] living individuals, I introduce a new notion … Chinese mindset organcide,” he said in a statement.
Vermaut believes the CCP resorted to intimidation, violence, and harassment in the past 22 years because the regime panicked after discovering between 70 million and 100 million people do Falun Dafa meditation exercises and behave truthfully, compassionately, and tolerantly in daily life. This dwarfed the CCP’s own atheist membership base of just 50 million back in 1999.
“The CCP completely freaked out and that is really what triggered actually the persecution,” he said. “The Chinese state apparatus’s paranoia is the principal offender of this mindset-based organcide that destroys man’s life power … [and] in Europe we call it the Chinese operation hidden ‘shadow murders.'”
A joint investigation between PostVersa and the International Alliance for the Defense of Rights and Freedoms revealed at least 207,500 Falun Dafa practitioners have suffered organ theft and murder in the past 22 years.
“Not because they did anything wrong but because they meditate,” Vermaut said. “Those accused of practicing Falun Gong’s attitude or ideology were dismembered, executed, and then burnt leaving no trace—people vanish.”
“In an organized clinical way, as a distinct business within industries, they even kidnap meditation practitioners’s organs and added this as an extra selling factor,” he continued. “I feel goosebumps thinking about these horrors.”
Vermaut made the remarks ahead of an international conference at the Belgium Press Club.
International China Tribunal counsel Hamid Sabi separately reviewed “thousands of pages” of survivor testimonies. He also found several inconsistencies in mainland China’s so-called voluntary organ donation data.
“China itself says it has got 2.8 organs for every deceased registered donor,” he said in the statement. “Findings of the tribunal … concluded that the practice of forced organ harvest has been going on for many years in China. Thousands of transplants take place every year—all these have been documented.”
The UN recently condemned the CCP’s alleged organ harvesting as “extremely” alarming. The intergovernmental organization cited “credible information” that clearly shows that peaceful Falun Gong, Uighur, Tibetan, Muslim and Christian people are forcibly subjected to blood tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, and other forms of medical examination without consent. This is despite the absence of any requirement for prisoners of conscience to undergo such medical tests.
“Forced organ harvesting in China appears to be targeting specific ethnic, linguistic or religious minorities held in detention—often without explaining the reasons for their arrest; or they are given arrest warrants—at different locations,” the UN previously said. “We are deeply concerned by reports of discriminatory treatment of the prisoners or detainees based on their ethnicity and religion or belief.”
The UN also criticized the CCP for registering test results in a living source database for “organ allocation.” State-run healthcare providers allegedly use the information to find potential buyers who can pay anywhere up to $1 million per organ.
