A rock star postponed multiple concerts after discovering his family member died on Nov.12.
Chris Daughtry’s tour will remain on-hold until the singer is well into the grieving process and this includes his New Jersey performance that was scheduled for Nov. 19. His stepdaughter Hannah was recently discovered dead at her Tennessee home.
Daughtry and wife Deanna took the opportunity to share tributes to the late 25 year-old.
“I am still processing the last 24 hours,” he said according to The Sun. “I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken.”
The celebrity is already trying to cope with recently losing his mother to cancer.
“I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately,” he said according to the publication. “We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it is another huge hit to our family.”
Fans expressed sympathy and understanding during this difficult time.
“Thank you all for your kind words and condolences,” Daughtry said. “I will be taking a break from social media to be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss. Hannah, I love you, I miss you, I wish I could hold you–this hurts so deeply.”
Deanna revealed autopsy results will soon determine the exact cause of death.
“We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death,” she said according to the publication. “Our hearts are broken.”
Hannah and her brother Griffin, 23, are children from the mother’s previous relationship. The couple have been married since the year 2000, and have two 10 year-old twins named Adalynn Rose and Noah James according to the New York Post.
Hannah was previously shot in the face during gang violence in Tennessee. Since she needed surgery and a prosthetic eye she set up a GoFundMe fundraising page to help cover medical and vehicle expenses.
“I totaled my car whenever I was shot trying to save my friend so I also need to save money to get a new vehicle, so that I can start working again,” she previously said.
